GW: Lonely Boy

Lonely Boy is a track by The Black Keys, and was the focus for a class music video- each group being assigned 46s (approx.).

Research
  • Many of the videos are performance based, giving the two band members prevalence
  • The use of comedy within their narratives is common, and would appeal to their relatively young fans.
  • Many static shots are used throughout, even in some performance (which is unusual within the industry)
  • There is an indie commentary and social position within the videos, conforming to the genre of the band who started in their basement and made their own records before linking with a very elective Indie Label.
Ideas
  • Combine both narrative and performance
  • Have elements of humour- eg drummers are on bongos
  • video takes place outside (as many of theirs do)
  • Use shots that are considered more artistic, eg slow motion.
  • include close ups of performance, emphasising the star image
